Sheltering in the office as Storm Brendan hits the Devon, I can see 60 foot conifers being bent over at alarming angles, small branches falling from the sky & horizontal rain. Not good. Although the rain is an inconvenience, adding to the already saturated soil,
gusty winds can be dangerous & have the ability to cause
widespread havoc particularly in gardens.

would be lost
Ruairi kept under plastic in the safety of the tunnel and finished planting his Broadbeans (100 in total) in raised beds.
We have had some nicer days; on Friday the sun made an appearance & illuminated the beautifully scented Mahonia
The big project this week was to prepare the paths for tarmaking. Twigs, leaves & Ivy which had started to take hold was removed by Max & the Southbrook gang in readiness of the tarmakers.
